‘Islands’ of biodiversity

Identify and evaluate the effectiveness of the electricity transmission towers as stepping-stones for wildlife. These structures could provide a more heterogeneous landscape framework, which would generate more possibilities of movements of organisms and reduce the time and energy invested in their movements and normal activities (R&D+i Project).

Geographic scope

Cordoba (Andalusia)

Results
  • Significant increase in the biodiversity at the base of the towers with the presence of small mammals, birds and the natural growth of native vegetation as a source of food and shelter.
Period
