  • The rehabilitation and restoration of a route connecting several sites of archaeological interest within the municipality, resulting from an agreement with Forcall Town Council

Redeia, through its subsidiary Red Eléctrica, and Forcall Town Council (Castellón) have collaborated to rehabilitate and enhance several historic trails as part of the new Camino Arqueológico Forcallano. This follows a collaboration agreement signed in 2024 by Redeia's Eastern Region Manager, Maite Vela, and the Mayor of Forcall, Santiago Pérez.

Through this initiative, and with the cooperation of the Club Esportiu Xafarroques, a project to revitalise the town's ethnological heritage has been completed, offering both environmental and tourism appeal. This action forms part of Red Eléctrica's commitment to creating shared value with local communities, in line with Redeia's Comprehensive Impact Strategy.

The route, which is approximately 12.3 km long, connects various points of interest within the municipality. These include the Bassa de la Mola de la Vila Nature Reserve, home to endemic species and rich flora and fauna; the Moleta dels Frares archaeological site (the walled Roman city of Lessera, declared a Site of Cultural Interest); and the Sant Joaquín de la Menadella funerary site. The route also extends to the neighbouring municipality of Villores and the River Bergantes, passing through areas designated as Sites of Community Importance (SCI) due to their high environmental value. In short, it is an itinerary along trails of immense scenic, environmental, and cultural value.

The shared objective of Red Eléctrica and Forcall Town Council in this project has been to maintain and rehabilitate Forcall's trails, as well as to promote its rich heritage. The first step involved signposting the sites included in the itinerary to make them more accessible to visitors. The marking of the route, its design, and the clearing work were carried out by Town Council staff and volunteers from the Club Esportiu Xafarroques, ensuring all tasks were undertaken by trained and qualified individuals.
