Red Eléctrica takes part in CONAMA 10 with a session regarding environmental information in the last 20 years

Red Eléctrica de España today took part in the tenth edition of the Spanish National Environmental Congress, with a session named 'A journey through environmental information in the last 20 years'.

This session, organised together with APIA, the Association of Environmental Information Journalists, wanted to cover, with ten interventions, the main subjects of the ten editions of this congress, which began eighteen years ago after the Earth Summit in Rio de Janeiro, in 1992.

Climate change and huge catastrophes; environmental journalists, reporters or protectionists; water wars; nuclear power and biodiversity, are some of the issues which over the last two decades have marked everyday environmental information and, therefore, the work of the professionals. In this session, professionals of the sector have reflected upon these and other subjects.

Under the motto 'Now, more than ever', the tenth edition of the CONAMA, being held 22-26 November in the Madrid Municipal Conference Centre, would like to send an inescapable message on the necessity to safeguard the natural capital by investing in sustainability and seeking involvement from the entire society.

Also, this edition counts for the first time on an invited country, Brazil, as a special recognition of the celebration of the next Earth Summit in Rio de Janeiro, in 2012.
