The demand for electrical energy on the Spanish peninsula in the month of October, after having factored in the seasonal and working patterns, fell 1% with respect to the same month last year. Gross demand for the month was 19,718 GWh, a value 0.3% lower than the figure for October 2013.
In the first ten months of the year, and after having factored in the seasonal and working patterns, consumption was up 0.1% on last year. The demand for electrical energy in this period stood at 202,202 GWh, down 0.9% on the same period in 2013.

Production coming from wind power during the month reached 3,390 GWh, down 14.5% on the same period last year, and represented 16.7% of the total production.
In the month of October, generation coming from renewable energy sources reached 31% of production.
54.5% of electricity generation during the month was obtained using technologies which produce zero CO2 emissions.
