Red Eléctrica collaborates with various non-profit organisations and entities to carry out social support actions targeted at various groups with specific needs.

In 2019, Red Eléctrica participated in an environmental volunteering day together with ACTEO Arqueología y Patrimonio, held on 9 November in Galapagar, Madrid, consisting of the recovery of a drainage ditch from the Roman period, located just five metres from the "Puente de El Toril" archaeological site.

A group of employees and their families worked on the removal of vegetation that hid a ditch from the Roman road that connected Merida with Zaragoza, passing through the Sierra de Madrid. In addition, ACTEO experts explained the importance of Roman culture and archaeological remains.

This solidarity initiative is a reflection of Red Eléctrica's commitment to the conservation of archaeological heritage in the design and construction of electrical installations, in collaboration with the Administration.

Red Eléctrica collaborates with various non-profit organisations and entities to carry out social support actions targeted at various groups with specific needs.

In 2019, Red Eléctrica took part in Oceans’ Day, celebrated on July 6th, and participated in an environmental volunteering day organised by the Island Council of Tenerife and the City Council of Candelaria, on the beach of Caletillas, Tenerife.

During the event, company employees and their families were involved in cleaning 90 kg of rubbish collected from the beach and were told of the need to protect marine species through workshops. The day ended with the release of a sea turtle, after having received care at the Wild Fauna Recovery Centre of La Tahonilla, which Red Eléctrica supports.

Red Eléctrica collaborates with various non-profit organisations and entities to carry out social support actions targeted at various groups with specific needs.

In 2019, Red Eléctrica participated in an environmental volunteering day together with the LIMNE Foundation, on the banks of the Turia river and in the Nature Interpretation Centre.

The conferences, held in April and November, consisted of planting helophytes, a type of plant that constitutes the front line of the river, being crucial for enabling the filtering of pollutants and the oxygenation of the water, contributing to the restoration and protection of the bird life of the Turia river.

VII Race against gender-based violence

Support for vulnerable groups.

Red Eléctrica collaborates with various non-profit organisations and entities to carry out social support actions targeted at various groups with specific needs.

Red Eléctrica collaborated in 2020 in the VII Race against Gender Violence, organised by the Ministry of Equality, Zinet Media Group and Archiletras, held on July 12 in a virtual way, being able to run from anywhere in Spain.

The president of the company, Beatriz Corredor, joined the race and encouraged the participation to contribute to a freer, fairer, egalitarian society without gender violence.

The proceeds will be donated to a gender violence victims association.

Kedada Trail

Support for vulnerable groups.

Red Eléctrica collaborates with various non-profit organisations and entities to carry out social support actions targeted at various groups with specific needs.

In 2020, Red Eléctrica has once again participated in the 7th edition of the "Kedada Trail", a 42-kilometre solidarity mountain race held in the town of Castellterçol, Barcelona, the purpose of which is to collect food for local vulnerable groups with basic needs.

The event held on 2 February involved nine company employees and their families, both participating in the race and in organising the event.

Thanks to the high level of participation, a record amount of food was collected, reaching 6,667 kg, destined to different social entities that provide support to families with needs in the Moianès region (Catalonia).

Third edition of the 4.0 Challenge Against Hunger (Zaragoza)

Red Eléctrica collaborates with various non-profit organisations and entities to carry out social support actions targeted at various groups with specific needs.

In 2019 Red Eléctrica participated in the 3rd edition of the 2019 4.0 Challenge by Acción contra el Hambre (Action against Hunger). The Challenge 4.0 is a charity race, a team building + CSR and corporate volunteering event in which employees from different companies run to contribute to the fight against child malnutrition.

The participation of twenty-six employees of Red Eléctrica de Zaragoza in this sports and family day, through a 12 km walk along an urban route, made it possible to contribute to the fight against child malnutrition.

"Devote one minute to the future"

Support for groups with specific needs

Red Eléctrica collaborates with various non-profit organisations and entities to carry out social support actions targeted at various groups with specific needs.

In 2019, Red Eléctrica took part in Universal Children's Day, dedicated to defending the rights of children and on 20th November it carried out the solidarity initiative ¨Dedica un minuto al futuro¨ (Devote one minute to the future), preparing children's hygiene kits, in collaboration with the Red Cross, aimed at local children in vulnerable situations.

The initiative, which involved employees of the Red Eléctrica Group from all the work centres, reached the amount of 500 solidarity kits with basic child hygiene products, to be distributed by the Red Cross to local families with food and hygiene needs.

With this gesture, the company reflects its commitment to defend the human rights of children in vulnerable situations.

Give and Gain

Support for vulnerable groups

Red Eléctrica collaborates with various non-profit organisations and entities to carry out social support actions targeted at various groups with specific needs.

In 2019, Red Eléctrica participated in the International Week of Volunteers in Forética with the Give and Gain initiative, participating in different solidarity initiatives with non-profit entities, simultaneously and on a national level, during the week of 7 to 14 May with the aim of achieving a positive impact of high social value.

In Madrid, a "Charity MasterChef" was held by the FDI Foundation, with the participation of 50 volunteer employees and their families. In this initiative, carried out together with people with intellectual disabilities, several cooking workshops were held in which the resulting dishes were used in a friendly competition between the teams formed by employees and beneficiaries of the Foundation and were later used in social dining rooms.

"Heroes at home"

Red Eléctrica collaborates with various non-profit organisations and entities to carry out social support actions targeted at various groups with specific needs.

In 2019, Red Eléctrica collaborated in the solidarity educational project called "Heroes at home" with the Asociación Freno al Ictus (Stop Strokes Association), with the aim of raising awareness of the importance of preventing cerebrovascular diseases such as stroke and spreading information about the steps to be taken when symptoms appear.

The initiative involved Red Eléctrica employees who, with prior training received from the association, spoke in schools, to boys and girls in Primary (last years) and Secondary education, about the importance of early detection of stroke symptoms among people who live with them.

In addition, during the Women's Week held in March 2020, Red Eléctrica organised an information day on stroke, risk factors, prevention and warning signs for its detection and how to act, demonstrating its commitment to the health and wellbeing of society, its employees and their families.

Collection of children's books

Support for vulnerable groups

Red Eléctrica collaborates with various non-profit organisations and entities to carry out social support actions targeted at various groups with specific needs.

In December 2019, Red Eléctrica collaborated in the solidarity campaign to collect children's books, as part of the Red Cross Christmas campaign to collect toys, to send gifts to children in a vulnerable situation.

The initiative included the involvement of employees of the Red Eléctrica Group from all the work centres, who deposited more than 400 books, some of them with a personal dedication, at the ¨árboles solidarios¨ (solidarity trees) set up for this purpose. With this gesture, the company contributed to enabling the most vulnerable children, from more than two hundred families, to enjoy the habit of reading, which is basic for their development.
