"Cuadernos en red" presentation (Madrid)

Informative sessions on energy

Red Eléctrica contributes to the dissemination of knowledge regarding the functioning of the electricity system by encouraging participation in conferences and training/informative sessions.

On 30 September 2019, Red Eléctrica presented the “Cuadernos en Red” at the Escuela Técnica Superior de Ingenieros Industriales in Madrid. This is a collection of six monographs that explain different perspectives of the challenges involved in tackling energy transition, considering its significance in the fight against climate change, the decarbonisation of the economy and the importance of electrical energy.

Focusing on the European energy goals set out in the 2030 Agenda, and whose first steps were defined in the draft version of the Integrated National Energy and Climate Plan, they present the reader with the paradigm of the new decentralised energy model based on five columns: renewable sources, technological innovation, energy efficiency, smart networks and the central role of the consumer.

Besides placing the consumer at the heart of the electricity system, they also tackle other important topics like the implementation of electric vehicles, self-consumption and the development of electricity interconnections.
