Red Eléctrica is committed to the local communities where its facilities are located by collaborating on actions that contribute to improving the well-being of people and their municipalities, and through support for the protection of basic needs, promotion of sport and healthy habits and the preservation of their culture.

Red Eléctrica collaborated with Güeñes Town Council in 2018 to carry out environmental sustainability actions to improve the quality of life of the residents of this town in the province of Biscay and to unlock the value of the area’s natural and heritage resources.

Activities related to improving mobility and accessibility and sustainable management of the environment, water and energy were carried out. There were also two campaigns to raise awareness of the importance of recycling.

Red Eléctrica collaborated with the Town Council in the previous three years by sponsoring the EkoKultura Fair, held annually to raise awareness and to sensitise visitors on basic environmental and sustainable development principles.
