Redeia has once again been included in the Dow Jones Sustainability Index
  • The Company has renewed its presence in the DJSI World by obtaining 86 points out of 100

For yet another year, Redeia, the parent company of Red Eléctrica, Reintel, Hispasat, Redinter and Elewit, has been recognised by the prestigious Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI) as one of the most sustainable companies in the world. This index, which is prepared annually by S&P Global Corporate Sustainability Assessment, and which was made public on 9 December, the Company obtained an overall score of 86 points out of 100 and has thus become one of the 15 Spanish companies included in this world benchmark index.

In this year’s edition, more than 10,000 listed companies from all over the world have been invited to participate in the assessment carried out by the S&P Global Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA), which annually evaluates the performance of companies regarding environmental, social and governance issues. 

Redeia, a global manager of essential infrastructures, achieved the highest score (100 points) in its sector in six of the areas analysed: materiality, business conduct codes, sphere of influence, innovation management, and social and environmental reporting. In addition, other aspects such as climate strategy, corporate citizenship and privacy protection were also positively highlighted.

This recognition showcases Redeia's ongoing effort and commitment to contributing to achieving a more sustainable, inclusive and resilient future for people and the planet. 

In order to continue carrying out its business activity and applying sustainability criteria in a cross-cutting manner, the Board of Directors of Redeia recently approved the 2023-2025 Sustainability Plan, a roadmap that includes 190 quantifiable and measurable actions to achieve the 87 objectives set for 2025 and that encompass areas such as decarbonisation of the economy, responsible value chain, contribution to the development of society and anticipating change and taking action. 

The Company consolidates its position in international markets as a benchmark option in the field of socially responsible investment.

The Dow Jones Sustainability Index, a variant of the Dow Jones New York Stock Exchange Index, is made up of companies that outperform their peers in terms of environmental, social and economic criteria. This index has become a key benchmark for socially responsible investors.
